Respected Sir,

Sub: apologies for cancellation of interview scheduled on 21/5/2014 –.

I believe that you might be very interested to apply for the post of Assistant Manager in our readymade shop. We are able to understand that from your immediate response for our advertisement in the daily regarding the vacancy for that post. Our shop being a private concern, we can’t make decisions immediately. Decisions can be made only after discussing with the board members of our company.

The interview was canceled as a result of a financial crisis that had happened to our company due to the accident which was happened by fire last week. The accident has incurred a heavy loss that has made us to rapidly change the methodologies which we have practiced so far. It was the only reason behind the cancellation of the interview which was scheduled on 21/5/2014.

Due to the accident we have already published our decision regarding the various cancellations and changes of policy in leading newspapers. But unfortunately it was published only on the date of interview. It was the reason for you to get disappointed on visiting our company for interview purpose on the specified date. Most of the local residents of the state have prevented themselves from being disappointed on seeing our advertisement and obviously the news regarding the fire accident which has incurred a heavy loss to our company.

We will surely re-schedule the interview after some time probably by the end of this month. And I hold the responsibility of intimating you personally either by mail or through phone call since you are coming from a remote village of another state.

Thanking you.

Regards,

The Manager,

Ready Made Shop,

XYZ city.
